Political science subject is one of the leading subject opted by students in social sciences in Government Degree College Shopian for its relevance to civil services and other competitive examinations. To cater to the demands of the students the college has a well established department of political science located at Allama Iqbal Academic block. The department has one sanctioned permanent post of Assistant professor who also works as Head of the Department, while as given the huge academic need other resource persons are hired on academic arrangement. Besides this the department of political science also manages the academic needs for the subject of public administration.
