Code of Conduct for Students
- Uniform and Identification:
- Students must attend college in the prescribed uniform (white shalwar-kameez with a plain dupatta/scarf and plain black sweater).
- ID cards issued by the college must be carried at all times and presented upon request.
- Timings and Attendance:
- Entry after 10:00 AM or departure before 3:15 PM is not permitted without prior permission from the Principal or Dean Students Welfare.
- Continuous absence for 15 days will result in removal from college rolls.
- Students must have a minimum of 75% attendance in both theory and practical classes to appear for examinations.
- Behavior and Discipline:
- Maintain silence in academic areas; any disruptive behavior, such as loitering, hooting, or whistling, is strictly prohibited.
- Grievances should be addressed to the grievance cell or the Head of the Institution, not handled personally.
- Ragging in any form is strictly banned, and violators will face expulsion as per legal provisions.
- Students enrolled must submit an Anti-Ragging registration form to the Admission section of the college.
- Prohibited Items and Activities:
- Unnecessary use Mobile phones, cameras, and other electronic gadgets are not allowed.
- Social media usage is prohibited within the campus premises.
- Consumption of intoxicants, smoking, chewing gum, and pan masala is strictly forbidden.
- Campus Maintenance:
- Students must ensure the campus remains clean by disposing of waste in designated bins. Scribbling or defacing walls, furniture, or any college property is prohibited.
- Wandering in corridors, staircases, or gathering unnecessarily is not allowed.
- Other Restrictions:
- Unauthorized meetings, celebrations, or fund collections within or outside the campus are prohibited.
- Students must leave the classrooms and campus immediately after classes.
Policy on Mobile Phones
- Phones may only be used for academic purposes with prior permission from faculty.
- Phones must be in silent mode during class hours.
- Unauthorized use of social media platforms is strictly prohibited on campus.
Code of Conduct for Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff
All staff members must comply with directives from the UGC, the Department of Higher Education J&K, and relevant statutory bodies, while adhering to the institution’s vision and mission.
- Professionalism and Integrity:
- Uphold the highest standards of moral and ethical conduct.
- Treat all stakeholders with respect and dignity, ensuring privacy and freedom from harassment.
- Responsibilities and Duties:
- Complete assigned academic, co-curricular, and administrative duties within stipulated timelines.
- Be punctual, reporting on duty as per prescribed working hours.
- Maintain decorum inside and outside the classroom, serving as role models for students.
- Academic Contributions:
- Engage in research, publish papers in reputed journals, and participate in conferences and faculty development programs.
- Develop value-based education and facilitate effective teaching-learning processes.
- Campus Maintenance and Property:
- Protect college property and ensure proper utilization of resources. Report any damages or losses immediately.
- Heads of Departments must ensure their department is clean, organized, and operational.
- Fairness and Equality:
- Treat all individuals with impartiality, ensuring inclusivity irrespective of gender, caste, religion, or orientation.
- Avoid discrimination and ensure equity in academic and administrative practices.
- General Rules:
- Refrain from unauthorized meetings, political activities, or protests within the campus.
- Avoid misuse of college resources for personal benefit.
- Participate actively in college events and activities, including national celebrations like Independence Day and Republic Day.
Non-Compliance
Violation of the code of conduct by students or staff will result in disciplinary action as per institutional policies, statutory guidelines, and legal provisions.
